Recently at my Psalm Sisters Bible study, the word lovely kept coming up. Someone asked, “What do you think of when someone is altogether lovely?” Almost immediately, the beautiful worship song “Altogether Lovely” came to mind and we broke out singing it a cappella.
As I reflected on that question, I realized that when I think of someone who is truly lovely, I don’t picture perfect hair, flawless skin, or the latest fashion. I picture a heart that reflects Jesus.
I think of someone who is filled with the fruit of the Spirit—someone who is loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, gentle, faithful, and self-controlled. Someone whose presence makes others feel seen and at peace.
That’s why I greet you with "Hello, Lovely."
