Chip Chip Hooray!

Chip Chip Hooray!
Hello, Lovely!

Staying on plan can be a daunting thing, especially if you aren't prepared!
Luckily, THM is very easy to stick to, if you ARE prepared.

Staying on plan doesn't mean you have to eat boring, tasteless foods. You can enjoy any meal by using THM recipes and THM-approved alternatives.

Chips and wraps are no exception!

When it comes to chips, remember this:
Palm oil and coconut oil are the only oils that are ok in chips because the natural saturation of the fats protects the oil from going rancid. Any other oils and the chips are off-plan. Also remember to choose baked chips, instead of fried.

Take a look at more great options:

Xochitl
Corn Chips
Charras Baked Corn Tostadas
Popcorners, Sea Salt,
 or Queso
Popcorners are only on-plan in the Sea Salt and Queso variety. They are E. Their other flavors have additives, which makes them not an ideal choice.

I haven't been able to find on-plan baked Blue corn Chips anymore, but there is hope because THM is working on their own line!

Before we 'wrap' things up, let's talk about WRAPS!

Here are some great store-bought choices:

Outer Aisle
Cauliflower Thins
Mission Carb Balance
Flour Tortillas
Mission Carb Balance
Street Tacos
Xtreme Wellness 100% Whole wheat Tortilla Wraps

La Banderita Low Carb
Soft Tacos

Santa Fe Whole Grain & Flax
Tortilla Wraps
La Tortilla Factory Low Carb Whole Wheat Tortillas

When it comes to buying wraps in a store, remember this: any brand that is 6g net carbs or less can be used on-plan as Personal Choice.
They are a frankenfood for drive-thru Sues. They are limited to the 6g and are FP.

You can also go for egg white wraps that are on-plan. Here are some examples:

Crepini Cage-Free
Egg Wraps
EggLife Southwest Style
Egg White Wrap
Crepini Egg Wraps
with Cauliflower
You can also try these Mini Pita Snacks:

These can be used as Personal Choice:

- flax and oat bran regular-size pita (red package)
- flax and oat bran minis (red package)
- flax and oat bran mini pita snacks (green package) 3 is a serving for us THMs.
- flax and oat bran minis (green package)

The regular pita is not recommended nor is the regular size flax and oat bran "free from" (green package) pita as they are over the 6g net carb frankenfood guideline.
When it comes to Frankenfoods, we want to keep them around 6g net carbs. If I remember these are 7g which is only one gram over.

Remember THM is not about hard fast rules, these are just guidelines. Some ladies do great with both of these. It is best to use them occasionally, since they do have some not-so-ideal ingredients.

For the Drive-Thru Sues, who want to make your own chips, you can use the mission wraps or Joseph’s Pitas and cut them into triangles. Spray with coconut oil and sprinkle with salt, seasonings, or lime juice. Bake for 6 minutes 45 seconds at 350 or put in the air fryer.

If you are a purist and want to make your own from scratch, you can use this recipe from the Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook (pg. 204):

This Recipe is great for purists, who don't want to use any Frankenfoods, or low-carb wraps from the store,
but they're easy enough for any Drive-Thru Sues to master.

Things to do in Tennessee

Things to do in Tennessee
If you're like me, you look for places to visit that will have a pit stop at the Trim Healthy Mama Cafe in Tennessee.
If you are heading that way, here are some attractions to consider while in Tennessee.

On my way to the cafe, I drive through Bowling Green, Kentucky, so my first stop is the Lost River Cave to get my picture taken with this butterfly on their building.

Westhaven

Westhaven is a giant neighborhood in Franklin. It's a great place to get a walk in the beautiful surroundings.

Cummins Falls
I took a drive over an hour to the East to see Cummins Falls and the drive was absolutely worth it!
Cummins is a waterfall on the Blackburn Fork River and is located in southern Jackson County, Tennessee.
By volume, it is the eighth largest waterfall in Tennessee. The falls, with a total height of 75 feet, consists of two drops.
The first has a plunge drop of 50 feet, ending in a shallow pool. I really loved the 1.5-mile walk to the falls.

Visiting the waterfall will require:
Hiking
Swimming or wading through water
Climbing rocks
Crossing slippery rocks

I highly recommend taking water shoes with some grip as the rocks are extremely slippery but so fun!
The walk to the waterfall was worth it. It was like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow when you finally saw the waterfall at the end.
It's a true gem in Tennessee and a fantastic day spent.
My boys had so much fun, and I'm thankful they helped me along the rocks.

Trim Healthy Mama Cafe
The highlight of my trip was, of course, my visit to the Trim Healthy Mama Cafe.

The cafe is a true gem because of the great atmosphere! It is truly focused on a HEALTHY and HEALING experience, and you never have to worry about what to order, because EVERYTHING is on plan! They also have all their products for purchase in their cafe!

You can read more about my visit by catching my blog here:

That's the end of my time in Tennessee. I have to say that the Tennessee woods, the weather, and all the vibrant green make it a wonderful place!

My favorites, besides the cafe, were the Gaylord Opryland and Cummin Falls.
I love photo opportunities and one of my favorite things to do is walk, hike, and bike.
I loved the walks through Opryland and the hiking at Cummins falls were both picture-worthy.

I do hope you get the chance to visit!

Blessings!

Protein Power

Protein Power
Hello, Lovely!

It’s time to learn about PROTEIN!

Protein is found across your whole body. It is in your muscles and bones, your skin and hair, and nearly every other body part or tissue.
Protein is essential to your body. Without sufficient protein, our bodies start to age at a faster rate.  And as we age, we need more protein to be able to build strong bones and muscles.  Our muscles, organs, bones, cartilage, skin, and the antibodies that guard against disease are all made of protein.  Without protein, none of these can repair themselves.

Protein can be balanced out by adding in collagen, whey protein, gelatin, and/or plant protein powders.
Here are some great sources of protein that you can use in your daily lifestyle:
Trim Healthy Mama is all about anchoring each meal and snack with protein.  When you’re preparing to eat, ask yourself where your protein is.  Protein takes priority!
Protein is the secret weapon in your arsenal against excess body fat.  Protein steadies your blood sugar, which is what Trim Healthy Mama is all about.  Protein repairs your body and helps fill you up to control your cravings.
Long-term weight loss can only happen when rollercoastering blood sugar is brought under control.  Protein is the only food to shut off hunger.

Protein stabilizes blood sugar, slashes the cravings and snack monster, and builds a calorie-burning and strong body.
The healthiest protein approach is to have a nice balance of both plant and animal. So have your meat proteins in some meals and balance them out with these other options. It creates a well-balanced body that is nourished and healthy.

Here are some great recommendations for protein powders:

Creamy Dreamy Recipes

Creamy dreamy is made from hemp seed. It is completely defatted and only has that wonderful anti-inflammatory protein that is so good for us. There is no hemp flavor, color or taste.
You can use it in place of whey for everything. It doesn't fluff as whey does in shakes, so it's great for adding protein without added air. It also doesn't curdle in hot things like oatmeal or trimmies.

Trim Healthy Mama also has amazing recipes to use with their products!
Here are some good ones for you to try if you want to see how to use Creamy Dreamy in your meals.

All About Rosacea

All About Rosacea
Hello, Lovely!

It’s Rosacea Awareness Month.

Have you heard of Rosacea? It’s a common skin condition that causes redness or blushing on your face, with visible blood vessels showing on the skin. One may also develop small, puss-filled bumps. These symptoms may flare up and stay for weeks on end, and then go away for a while.

Rosacea most commonly affects middle-aged women, with fair skin. Did you know that Rosacea is oftentimes confused with adult acne? Though they look similar, they are completely different conditions and require different treatment.

Even though it's very tempting to want to cover up the redness and swelling with make-up, it's always important to remember that taking care of your skin is more important than covering it up.

Fortunately, LimeLife has amazing products packed with all-natural ingredients that will help resolve all the irritations that go along with Rosacea.

Take a look at my recommendations for which products to use if you are suffering from Rosacea:

Skin Confidence Collection is a gentle face cleanser and a moisturizer that you use twice a day, and then a mask to be used a couple of times a week.
Midnight Oil Collection is a luxurious oil cleanser and serum that is made from Marula Oil and is super powerful.

Both of these collections would work beautifully and you only need to choose one.

These three additional products; Dew Date, One Drop wonder (pictured above) and Forty Cure Cream (pictured below) can be used on the face and entire body and also combat Rosacea. You can add one, two, or all three to your arsenal of weapons to combat Rosacea.
I have so many testimonies that these helped!

The Forty Cure Cream is a wonderful product used to treat many different skin conditions like wounds, burns, eczema and rosacea. It has a magic ingredient called Tamanu Seed Oil.

Please reach out and let me know if you are struggling with Rosacea or any other skin condition. It’s my mission in life to make sure your skin, and your overall health, are in their best condition.

And while we are talking about over-all health, remember that the food you eat also plays a very important role in the health of your skin. I am also a Trim Healthy Mama coach, and I can help you make some important food choices that will boost your health and vitality!

I look forward to helping you with all your health and skin care needs!

Let's Learn about Collagen

Let's Learn about Collagen
Hello, Lovely!

Today we are talking all about COLLAGEN!
Have you heard of collagen before? What exactly IS it and what does it do for my body? Do I REALLY need it? I’m about to answer all of your questions!

Collagen is a protein found all over your body. It offers many benefits to your health and well-being. Curious to know why?

It’s no wonder that when your collagen is low, you just don’t feel right. Many times we experience symptoms that make no sense and cannot be pinned down to a single problem… Or can they?

These are some of the symptoms that could be a tell-tale sign that you have a lack of collagen in your body.

But how do you combat this problem? What is the solution?!
Have no fear, I’m here to help!

The first thing to start with is your diet!

You need to be eating foods that are rich in collagen, to keep your body stocked up and functioning well.
Take a look at some of my dietary recommendations:

Be sure to add these foods into your regular diet, and you will start to see an improvement in your health.

But let’s not stop there.
You can also boost your collagen intake with supplements. You can get collagen powder that is odorless, tasteless, and easy to mix in. You can add it to a variety of drinks, smoothies, or food.

It’s important to make sure that the collagen you choose is of high quality and from a reputable source. You want to be careful with what you put in your body.
Once again, I’ve got you covered with an amazing collagen product from Trim Healthy Mama!

It is safe to use and will boost your body with these amazing benefits:

If you suffer in any of the above areas, then adding collagen to your daily intake will help you live a better, healthier life!

Take a look at the benefits you will start to see in your hair and skin:

Feeling a little overwhelmed? Let me help you!

I have seen so many amazing testimonies from implementing collagen into your diet. My hair is one of them! But what if you've tried collagen and you didn't see a difference or, perhaps, it made you feel worse?  I suggest not giving up on collagen, altogether, but finding a different source because you may be in a season where you're allergic to that source of protein. Maybe beef is not good for you, so I suggest finding the chicken broth below.

Here are some great products and recipes to help you get started:
