Let's Learn about Collagen

Let's Learn about Collagen
Hello, Lovely!

Today we are talking all about COLLAGEN!
Have you heard of collagen before? What exactly IS it and what does it do for my body? Do I REALLY need it? I’m about to answer all of your questions!

Collagen is a protein found all over your body. It offers many benefits to your health and well-being. Curious to know why?

It’s no wonder that when your collagen is low, you just don’t feel right. Many times we experience symptoms that make no sense and cannot be pinned down to a single problem… Or can they?

These are some of the symptoms that could be a tell-tale sign that you have a lack of collagen in your body.

But how do you combat this problem? What is the solution?!
Have no fear, I’m here to help!

The first thing to start with is your diet!

You need to be eating foods that are rich in collagen, to keep your body stocked up and functioning well.
Take a look at some of my dietary recommendations:

Be sure to add these foods into your regular diet, and you will start to see an improvement in your health.

But let’s not stop there.
You can also boost your collagen intake with supplements. You can get collagen powder that is odorless, tasteless, and easy to mix in. You can add it to a variety of drinks, smoothies, or food.

It’s important to make sure that the collagen you choose is of high quality and from a reputable source. You want to be careful with what you put in your body.
Once again, I’ve got you covered with an amazing collagen product from Trim Healthy Mama!

It is safe to use and will boost your body with these amazing benefits:

If you suffer in any of the above areas, then adding collagen to your daily intake will help you live a better, healthier life!

Take a look at the benefits you will start to see in your hair and skin:

Feeling a little overwhelmed? Let me help you!

I have seen so many amazing testimonies from implementing collagen into your diet. My hair is one of them! But what if you've tried collagen and you didn't see a difference or, perhaps, it made you feel worse?  I suggest not giving up on collagen, altogether, but finding a different source because you may be in a season where you're allergic to that source of protein. Maybe beef is not good for you, so I suggest finding the chicken broth below.

THE GREEN GOODNESS OF CHLOROPHYLL

THE GREEN GOODNESS OF CHLOROPHYLL
Hello, Lovely!

Here’s a little something that’s good for you and for the planet!

Chlorophyll harnesses the sun’s energy to support life and vitality for both plants and people. Chlorophyll makes food for plants and oxygen for us. Plus, this minty green elixir strengthens the gut and supports well-being.

This is what Chlorophyll does:
Supports detoxification of the digestive tract
Supports the intestinal system
Is paraben-free
Concentrated formula with a fresh mint flavor

But what is Chlorophyll exactly?
Chlorophyll is the green pigment in plants that harnesses the sun's energy in photosynthesis. Chlorophyll in plants performs metabolic functions such as respiration and growth.

Here are the benefits of Chlorophyll:

I add some to my water for a delicious drink!
I like around a tablespoon in an eight-ounce glass of water.

I also add chlorophyll to recipes that have a mint flavor! Here is a favorite:

Thin Mint Chocolate Chip Milkshake Recipe
This milkshake is divine!
It’s also sugar-free and low carb and THM approved!

Plants in your home

Plants in your home
Hello, Lovely!

Ever wonder why you feel like you can breathe easier, focus better, and simply be happier in a room full of nature? Indoor plants improve your mental and physical well-being in ways you probably didn’t even realize.

Here are some things plants do:

Air quality

Plants improve the air quality of the room, so you’ll breathe better air.
They also make any room more comfortable.
Not only do indoor plants add color and liveliness to your space, but they also change the physical aspects of the environment in pleasant ways. Plants can be used to increase the relative humidity indoors, reduce noise, screen unattractive areas, and moderate room temperature by shading a bright, sunny window.

Mental Well-being

Plants will boost your mental well-being.
Taking care of plants can boost your sense of accomplishment as well. Any time someone takes ownership in something by doing it themselves, they exude pride in accomplishment.
They’ll help you forget about stress!  Potting plants and actively maintaining them provide an opportunity to forget about troublesome, stressful things that may be going on in your life and focus on caring for something.

Productivity

Your productivity may soar. Have you ever felt like you just can’t work? It’s all about the way your home is decorated. Those that have more pictures, decorations, and plants have proven to be more productive workspaces. You get reminders of why you’re working and the goals you have in life.

Healing

By surrounding ourselves with plants, we are able to create a sort of natural, living sanctuary in which we feel safe and protected. Plants help to give the immune system a  boost. When you get more sleep and feel more relaxed, your immune system is able to work more.
Aloe Vera can be used to heal sunburn and other skin irritations.

HERE ARE SOME FAVORITE PLANTS THAT I KEEP IN MY HOME:

This plant is the star of our home!  Oftentimes, when guests come in, they notice this plant and ask what it is.  I asked for a starter to this plant at my Carmichael family reunion as I heard it was unique and a family heirloom. It was very small and grew large quickly, so I had to re-pot it.  It looks prickly but is soft and fuzzy.  It grows out of control and is stunning. I really enjoy caring for it. It brings life to our home and is certainly beautiful and decorative.

My favorite part of plants is you can start them yourself or get them from someone you love. This can be a hobby that doesn't cost a lot of money.   This is my tall avocado plant.  My brother-in-law started it from a pit and gave it to me.  It reminds me of him when I see it.

I hope you will consider adding more and more plants to your environment to make your home healthier and happier.

Did you know that plants also have a magical substance called Chlorophyll?
It’s magic that makes food for plants and oxygen for us

VITAMINS AND SUPPLEMENTS

VITAMINS AND SUPPLEMENTS

I often get asked what vitamins I take and where I get them.  I know the quality of your vitamins and supplements is very important.  You don't want to waste money on vitamins that don't work.

I have used a company called Nature's Sunshine for 16 years!  I have been extremely happy with them and know they work quickly and effectively. My whole family has taken Nature's Sunshine and we all have seen results. They are certified organic and of high quality.

The best supplements for you will depend on factors like your gender, age, medical history, genetics, level of physical activity, and diet.  Even the best supplements shouldn't take the place of eating a variety of nutrient-dense foods. While supplements like vitamins, minerals, antioxidants can help to support specific functions, the real goal of using supplements should be to enhance an already-balanced diet.

It's Wintertime in Michigan, where we don't get a lot of sunshine.  Here are the vitamins I'm taking in this season of my life:

Super Omega 3 EPA:

A fish vitamin that doesn't have the fish taste!
  • Promotes brain health
  • Encourages healthy circulatory function

HSN-W:

Hair Skin and Nails
If you want healthier hair, stronger nails, and more supple skin, feed them! HSN-W provides a unique blend of herbs traditionally used to support the health of hair, skin, and nails. These botanicals, including wild-crafted horsetail, stems from Bulgaria, also offer great antioxidant benefits.

Zinc:

I remember the saying "if you lack zinc, you stink!"  This is so true for me.
From antimony to zinc, your body needs minerals. Zinc is key to hundreds of important functions, including sugar and protein metabolism, DNA formation, and energy production. It’s also needed for proper growth and development, and it helps strengthen your immune system.
  • Supports immune function

Vitamin D3:

A sunshine vitamin because I live in Michigan in the Winter.

It’s hard to get enough of the sunshine vitamin when you don’t have lots of sun or time to be outside. Open a bottle of sunshine with Vitamin D3. Improve bone health and boost your immune system and mood all year long.
  • May help support a healthy mood
  • May contribute to immune system health
  • Supports bone health

Calcium Magnesium:

You need good partners in life, like calcium and magnesium.
They work together with you for a healthy body. But you often don’t get enough. Fill any dietary gaps for these essential minerals with SynerPro® Calcium-Magnesium, and get a few bonus minerals too!
  • Supplies vital nutrients for body function
  • Promotes a healthy structural system

Vitamin A & D:

I had an eye injury and that is why I take this along with Perfect Eyes Supplement.
  • Supports general health.
  • Is vital for healthy skin and eyes.
  • Supports strong bones and teeth.

Elderberry D3fense:

This is my go-to if we start feeling like we may get sick or to stay from getting sick.
Less sun means less vitamin D. And that leads to a weaker immune system. You don’t have time for that! Strengthen your immune system with Elderberry D3fense, our exclusive blend of vitamin D and immune-boosting elderberry, echinacea, olive leaf, and royal jelly. Because you deserve the best.
  • Supports the immune system
  • Daily maintenance formula

Do you take daily vitamins?

This is truly something I would highly recommend, not just for your own health, but for the health and well-being of your entire family!

I find putting them in a place that reminds you to take them every day very helpful.
